The Chitrakoot Project has come from nothing to a highly respected health care unit in 6 years. From the beginnings in Chitrakoot which were empty rooms , a modern surgery suite has been developed with laboratory and supporting medical investigation facilities. Staffing has increased to three full time Dental surgeons who are graduates of Indian Universities and three well trained dental nurses.

A computerised record system with reception staff runs efficiently. There is a constant demand for care and the range of treatment is constantly expanding.

A major development has been the setting up of a mobile three chair unit to bring treatment to most of two hundred villages within a forty mile radius ,which are remote and only accessible by off-road vehicle.

This has proved to be a most valuable development bringing care to many whose only means of travel is an buffalo cart and who could never afford to travel by any other means.

By carrying out treatment , often in the village central meeting point, it has become possible to start health education for the many waiting for care. Some villages have now been visited for the second time and the fruits of previous visits can be seen.
